anna told me that she was sending me something in the mail, and it finally arrived the other day. i was in suspense as to what it was going to be, although i think i knew that it was something she made.
if you don't know anna, she's a super-talented artist, who for the past few years has been doing a lot of amazing hand-made stuffed animals. usually she does really cute animals, a few years ago when she was just starting to make them, i got an amazing pimp dog for my birthday.
of late a new theme has begun to emerge in her work. to use her word, poo. cute poo. last year for my birthday she made me a smiling poo. perhaps he's a devil's finger, i'm not sure. hang out with anna enough and you'll learn that there are many different categories and classifications for poo. she's put way to much thought into the issue, that's for sure.
this isn't any small time hobby either, i think in the past couple of years she's made and sold up to three hundred animals. last year she had an art show at cartoon network, where she works. as she was hanging everything during the day of the show, she managed to sell out of each and every one. tons of people who showed up for the show were disappointed to find out they were all gone. plans are also in the works for her animals and other related products (aka poo products) to achieve an even wider release.
so i was excited to find out what she'd sent me. here it is!
what's even more amazing about it is it's got two poos, if you flip over the happy poo, there's a sad one on the other side!
you can wear it depending on your mood. i tried it out:
it's also made of a very high-quality wool yarn, so it's very warm, too. i can't wait to try it out on the chilly streets of seoul. especially lately we're having a bit of a cold stretch, so it's perfect timing to have one now.
thanks anna, i love it! by the way, if you want to see some more exciting things from anna, check out her site, http://www.annachambers.com. supposedly a new version is coming soon, too.
