last thursday we got the word that two of our teachers, fred and charles were leaving the school. whether or not they were leaving or being asked to leave is unknown, but for a while i'd been hearing rumors that something might happen. fred was our academic coordinator, kind of like the head teacher. but he and our supervisor didn't seem to see eye to eye, so it sounded like one of them was going to have to go.

personally i know fred a lot more because he sat in the teachers room with us, next to me in fact. i also ate lunch with him every day lately since i didn't have to eat with the kids because i don't have a class before lunch. charles is fred's good friend from back when they were both studying at texas tech in the states, and he was a nice guy, too. i'm definitely sad to see them go.

it's amazing how quickly the school turns over its staff. i've been here for four months and there are now only three people that were already there when i came: the owner of the school, my supervisor, and one of the teachers, jane. natalie and sunny came after me within a week or two, but it's still astonishing to think i've been here such a short time and so many people have come and gone during that span.
