on tuesday one of my students, christina, had an interesting lollipop, it was shaped and colored like a beer mug! i asked her what it was called, and sure enough it's called 맥주 (maekju, the korean word for beer) candy. of course i wanted a picture, but she tried to dodge me.

my first curiosity was whether or not it actually tastes like beer, but she let me smell it, and it's lemon. still, it's still pretty funny to see a kid eating beer candy. reminded me of candy cigarettes when i was a kid. i suppose the alcohol and tobacco companies like to get them started early.

once i got to my next class i found out it was bella who was supplying everyone with all the candy, which also included cola and something else that turned her tongue pink.
