friday, march 3rd i met 혜진 (hyejin) and her friend 다 (dayoung) for dinner in gangnam. it was my first time back to that area that i had spent a lot of time in last year. i guess in three months it hadn't changed much, but it did feel different somehow. i think my memories are strongly tied to the place i was in when i experienced them, so when i go back to somewhere i've been before, i end up recalling lots of things i'd otherwise forgotten about and might not have ever remembered had i not been right back there. so in some ways it was like reliving some of the fun times i'd had last year.

we went to a 찜닭 (jjim dak, steamed chicken) restaurant, another branch of the same chain i'd been to before at central city at the express bus terminal. the chicken is steamed in a kind of sweet soy sauce, but it's also a little bit spicy, too. the sauce is really good, and the chicken comes out really good because it's steamed. there's also lots of noodles that according to hyejin are actually made from sweet potatoes. yummy!

after that we went to o'sulloc, the green tea cafe we've enjoyed many times in the past. despite the fact that it was very cold out, dayoung ordered the fredo ice cream so hyejin and i were jealous. i think i got a green cappuccino that was actually really good, but nothing beats that fredo ice cream, no matter what the temperature is like outside.
