friday, april 28th we had an open class at school where the parents of the students could come and sit in on a class. in preparation for that day, my partner ally asked me if there was anything i could make for our english room to make it look nicer. she had mentioned before that she wanted an alphabet for the room, so i suggested that i make one for us.
it wasn't an easy project, but i started working on it at the beginning of april and did about ten letters every weekend. i think in the end it took a total of around twelve hours to put it all together. i sketched out my ideas on paper first, then in photoshop. then i brought the photoshop images into illustrator and made vector drawings of them and put them in color. when i was pleased with them i exported them as pdfs with two letters per page.
alphabet
here it is hung up in the classroom
ally was really happy with it, and all the teachers at the school were very impressed and wanted copies of it. hopefully the kids will enjoy staring at it when they're bored in class.
for those of you who are teachers or would just like a huge alphabet to hang up in your room, here's the zip file of all the pdfs:
a-z.zip (5 Mb) the pages are set up for A4 size landscape.
