downtown

today was a beautiful day so i thought i'd take a walk, and ended up walking all the way to downtown seoul. it's really not that far, i think i made it there in about forty-five minutes. there were lots of people out enjoying the weather just like me, especially as i got closer to downtown.

much like the other kyobo building in gangnam, this one has a huge bookstore in the basement, including lots of books in english. it's one of two places i've been going to keep feeding my philip k. dick fix.

nearby there i heard a bunch of people playing traditional korean drums, so i waltzed over to see what they were up to. as they were performing, a lot of older koreans were watching and bobbing their heads along or clapping joyfully.

moments later a homeless guy joined him and then all of a sudden someone shooed them away. here's a video i took of them performing:
