this morning i got an email letting me know that shawn from the original korea life blog passed away recently.

it was by reading his blog a few years ago that i became inspired to come to korea and teach english. as i was researching to come to korea i emailed him a few times, and he was always very generous with his advice. he also linked to my site, which i'm sure is how anyone who's not my friend or family member found this site. for some reason, once i got to korea i never contacted him and tried to meet him. later last year he left korea and moved to china to teach there.

although i didn't know him, it's sad news, and i wish i'd been able to better thank him for inspiring me to come to korea. without his blog, i probably would have never done it. i'm sure there are lots of other people who enjoyed reading about his experiences, and who will miss him.
