charles and lisa had their reception at the legends seafood restaurant in waikiki. it was an amazing multi-course chinese banquet style feast. of course i had to document it all, so here goes...
reception
not sure what all of this was, but it was yummy and got things started right
one thing that was not controversial about this shark fin soup was the taste
peking duck wrapped in buns
this lobster had han, who was seated next to me, raving
the seasoned crab was a winner as well
not sure what kind of fish this was, but you don't need to know what it is to enjoy it
broccoli with dried scallops kept things going strong
delicious fried rice
more duck because why not?
and finally a red bean dessert to cap it all off
during the feast were also nice comments from charles and lisa about the wedding party, as well as nice speeches from kayee and mike, who i thought did a great job of summing up charles' character and reminding us all how lucky we are to have him as a friend.
the cake topper that charles made
this wedding cake looked good, but somehow i didn't end up trying it
the groomsmen, kevin (left), han (center), and myself (right)
roger and valerie, more calarts friends that i had a great time catching up with in hawaii
charles and lisa treated us to a final hula dance to cap off the wedding
it was a great time, and i'm so happy for charles and lisa. i was really glad that i had the chance to attend the wedding, and i only wished that i had been able to stick around for a few days afterwards like some were able to do. unfortunately i had to leave the next morning to head back to korea in time to teach on friday. still, it was a great time and i'm happy that i was able to be there for it. congratulations, charles and lisa!
