on the evening of friday, february 2nd i met my friends sam and yejee for dinner in 명 (myeongdong). we started at a chinese restaurant that specialized in this certain kind of dumpling.

for some reason i don't look to excited eating it, but it was really good

after dinner we left there and walked around the busy shopping area of myeongdong. it's kind of a strange place, there's lots of clothing stores and it's jam-packed with shoppers from the late morning until into the evening. but by around 10:00p or so, everyone seems to disappear, there isn't much night life there. everyone moves on to another part of town i guess.

still, we found a bar on the top floor of one building that we decided to take a look at. it took us a few minutes to decide if it was actually classy or if it was a cheesy, crappy place trying to pretend it was classy. they had a grand piano, so after going back and forth a bit, we finally decided it was actually classy, so we stayed.

i ordered a cocktail, but i was very disappointed when it came out. it was too fancy, i felt like a total girl drink drunk.

proof of the classiness of this bar was another great sink to add to my collection of cool sinks

after that place, we wanted to go to another place but since myeongdong kind of shuts down, we went to 대 (hongdae), a part of town that basically never closes. we went to a japanese style bar for some sake and side dishes.

we enjoyed some delicious raw octopus with wasabi

we had a good time just chatting all night, sam and yejee are definitely two of the best friends i had in korea. we always felt comfortable and had plenty of good times and interesting conversations when we got together.
